The former Tottenham manager made the comment following the North London outfit’s 4-1 victory over AS Monaco at White Hart Lane in the Europa League Group J on Thursday evening.
Spurs did well again, should get into the top four this season. For me they’re one of 5 teams who could win the title. It’s wide open.— Harry Redknapp (@Redknapp) December 11, 2015
It seems that Redknapp has changed his mind about Tottenham’s chances of winning the Premier League title this season.
Earlier this week, the former West Ham boss wrote in The Telegraph: "Chelsea are out of the title race now, Tottenham can make the top four but I do not see them winning it.”
Spurs are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with 26 points from 15 matches, just six points behind leaders Leicester City.
While Redknapp does not name the five teams he considers as genuine contenders for the Premier League title this season, perhaps Leicester are one of them.
Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United are second, third and fourth respectively in the standings, and they are the main challengers for the title.
Liverpool are three points behind Tottenham in eighth, and perhaps if they put together a run of positive results over the next couple of months, then they could find themselves in a good position to challenge for the Premier League title.
