Former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Danny Murphy said on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Monday morning (December 7) that Aston Villa will get relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.
Villa are at the foot of the Premier League table at the moment and are in real danger of going down. The Villans have picked up just six points from 15 league games so far this season.
Sunderland are second from bottom in the standings with only 12 points, while Newcastle United are a point above them in 18th.
Bournemouth, Norwich City and Swansea City are 17th, 16th and 15th with 13, 13 and 14 points respectively.
Of the six teams involved in the relegation dogfight, Villa are the only ones who look doomed at the moment.
Former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder Murphy does not fancy Remi Garde’s side to stay up.
“I don’t think it matters,” said the former England international on Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Monday morning (December 7) when asked if Jack Grealish should be recalled to the team.
“I really can’t see it,” added Murphy on Villa’s survival chances. “Sorry Villa fans. I think they are doomed.”
Villa’s performances this season have been poor, with many of the players severely under-performing.
There have been a number of individual mistakes, and manager Garde has a tough job on his hands.
The Villans will return to Premier League action on Sunday evening when they take on Arsenal at Villa Park.
