Cardiff City-owned Adam le Fondre seems to rate his teammate Benik Afobe highly.

Cardiff City-owned striker Adam le Fondre has suggested to Sky Sports that he rates Wolverhampton Wanderers youngster Benik Afobe highly.

Le Fondre has been playing with striker Afobe since August when he joined Wolves on a season-long loan deal from Championship rivals Cardiff.

"When we've played together it's gone well and we've got a good understanding,” the 29-year-old told Sky Sports about the former Arsenal prospect. “I wouldn't say he's a No 9 or a No 10. He's more of an all-round frontman.

“You can't label him. He's better than just being a No 9. He can drop off and link the play and has great ability.”

Afobe joined Wolves from Premier League giants Arsenal in January 2015 and has established himself as one of the best strikers in the Championship.

The 22-year-old scored 13 goals and created 19 chances in 21 Championship games last season.

So far this campaign, the English youngster has scored seven goals and created 15 chances in 19 league matches.

Wolves are 14th in the Championship table at the moment with 24 points from 19 matches.

Kenny Jackett’s side are currently eight points above the relegation zone and five points behind sixth-place Cardiff.

Wolves will return to action this evening when they take on Nottingham Forest at Molineux in the Championship.
