West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has been speaking ahead of his side’s Premier League clash with Stoke City on Saturday, with his comments later published on the Hammers’ official Twitter account.
West Ham are currently seventh in the table after their impressive 0-0 draw against Manchester United last time out, while Stoke climbed up to 11th after comfortably beating Manchester City in a wonderful display of confident, attacking football.
That performance will have got plenty of managers thinking and Bilic is the next to try his hand against Mark Hughes’ men.
The former Croatian international likes what he has seen from the Potters this season and he reserved special praise for three Stoke players in particular, while also mentioning two others.
“Credit to Mark Hughes because he has built a fantastic squad,” the West Ham boss said. “(Bojan) Krkic, (Xherdan) Shaqiri and (Marko) Arnautovic are all top class players.
“(Jonathan) Walters is also very effective and (Mame Biram) Diouf. They have a strong squad so it will be a difficult game.”
That it will, and West Ham’s ongoing injury problems will not help matters. But this is the kind of match that really could go either way and the only thing for certain is it should be an exciting clash.
