Tottenham Hotspur fans react on Twitter to Clinton N'Jie's performance

Clinton N'Jie's performance for Tottenham against Monaco divided opinion.

Tottenham Hotspur stunned Monaco by comfortably beating them 4-1 at White Hart Lane to clinch top spot in their Europa League group.

Spurs rotated their side, resting the likes of Harry Kane, and were inspired by Erik Lamela's impressing hat-trick.

Josh Onomah was handed his first start, while Clinton N'Jie was given another opportunity to show what he can do.

The Cameroon international is yet to really find his feet since his summer move from Lyon, and is still waiting for his breakthrough performance.

Last night against Monaco he worked hard from a defensive point of view, but did not show quite enough quality on the ball to really demonstrate what he is capable of.

He managed only 31 touches of the ball, with two shots on target, but did not create any chances for his teammates.

Counting against him is the fact he is constantly in and out of the side, and the performance of Erik Lamela is one which should give him real hope.

Lamela has taken two and a half seasons to produce the astounding performance he did last night, and if Tottenham stick with him, there is a strong chance he will eventually live up to expectation.

Fans were divided about his performance, offering a mix of positive and negative opinion. Here is a look at a cross section of the views via Twitter...
