After the lows of losing 5-1 to Alan Pardew's Crystal Palace side, Newcastle United fans found themselves on cloud nine after seeing their side beat Liverpool 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.
The desire, work-rate and togetherness shown by the Newcastle squad against the Reds was a complete rarity based on the last couple of years at St James' Park.
And Steve McClaren has therefore earned the right to smile and share a laugh in front of the cameras. He hasn't let the opportunity pass him by, as the adjacent picture shows.
That's the mood in Newcastle training summed up right now. It's even consistent with McClaren's approach throughout the season, with the Magpies boss often remaining bizarrely light hearted and positive in the face of constant criticism.
His win over Liverpool has given the Newcastle squad - and himself - the chance to smile freely for a week. But, obviously, complacency needs to be avoided.
Often this season, Newcastle have performed ably against the better-known sides in the Premier League, only to then suffer humiliating losses the following week. If McClaren and co can get another result against Spurs on Sunday, then they can really smile.
