Roberto Martinez has said that Everton are not looking to make any additions in the January transfer window, at his press conference on Thursday covered by the club's YouTube channel.
The Toffees have been linked with a range of players over recent weeks, but it doesn’t seem likely that they will try and add to the squad in the new year.
Martinez says that Everton want to ensure that their squad is stable, and he is unlikely to bring in any fresh faces at the next opportunity.
"January is not a window that we are looking to bring players in, unless something happens," the Spanish boss said.
"Sometimes January is a window of opportunity, and we’ll keep that in mind, but for us it is just a transitional month.
"We want to carry on working in the middle of the season and this season was always going to be about continuity."
Everton have a squad that is packed with quality, and there are a number of their players who have struggled to break into the team.
Kevin Mirallas and Steven Naismith, two very capable Premier League performers, have both seen game time limited this term.
Martinez is clearly keen not to overload his squad, and he has faith that the players at his disposal can meet expectations.
Everton have made an encouraging start to the 2015/16 campaign, but they will be eager to move up from their current position of ninth in the Premier League table.
Everton’s next match comes against Norwich City on Saturday.
