Watford have a loan deal for Saint Etienne midfielder Ismael Diomande lined up, as reported by Mondo Udinese.
The Saint Etienne star, 23, looks to be closing in on a permanent transfer to Udinese, sister club of the Hornets.
However, Diomande has a desire to play in England, and as the Serie A club are not able to register any more non-EU players to their roster, a loan deal to Watford has been lined up.
He reportedly already has agreed a deal with the Zebrette, and it is just down to Udinese reaching an agreement with St Etienne concerning a fee for his transfer.
With his contract expiring at the end of next season, it appears as if the Ligue 1 outfit could be willing to sell him, especially as he has fallen out of favour in the first-team this campaign, without an appearance to his name since the beginning of October.
Despite this, he is a 12-capped Ivory Coast international, meaning a work permit will not be too hard to secure, and at the age of just 23, he has many years ahead of him to keep developing.
Able to play in defensive midfield, Diomande would likely be arriving at Vicarage Road as cover for Etienne Capoue, Ben Watson and Valon Behrami across the second half of the season.
