Michy Batshuayi says he dreams of playing for Real Madrid

The Belgian international has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur but he is seemingly casting admiring glances elsewhere.

According to a recent report from the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur have been sending scouts to keep a close eye on Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi. But before Spurs fans get too excited about the prospect of the exciting goal-scorer arriving at White Hart Lane, he has named his dream club, and it is not Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Speaking to broadcaster beIN Sports in an interview later posted online by butfootballclub.fr, the 22-year-old said, “The team that makes me dream? Real Madrid. Does PSG make me dream? No, not at all.”

Real is often the club mentioned when footballers speak of their dream club, so Batshuayi’s comments come as no surprise, and neither should they be taken as a pointer to his future team.

After all, just because Batshuayi fancies a stint at Real it does not mean the feeling is reciprocated.

While the Spanish giants have plenty of goal-scoring options, as proved by their 8-0 Champions League victory earlier this week, Tottenham could do with another forward despite the presence of Harry Kane.

If the England international is ruled out for any length of time Tottenham would then be relying solely on Clinton N’Jie and Heung-Min Son for their goals, so it makes sense that Pochettino is keeping tabs on Batshuayi.

If Tottenham bid big enough they could yet get him in time, but like a certain Welshman he may dream of a switch to the Spanish capital later in his career.
