Aston Villa are said to be keeping tabs on Anderlecht's latest match.
According to a report from Anderlecht-online.be, Aston Villa are one of the clubs who have sent scouts to watch Anderlecht take on FK Qarabag in their final Europa League group match on Thursday evening.
Anderlecht still have a good chance of reaching the next stage of the competition although they are relying on other results as they are currently third in Group J, one point behind AS Monaco who take on Tottenham Hotspur in the other fixture.
Anderlecht have some very exciting young players coming through the ranks so it is no surprise that the likes of Villa, Everton and Manchester United will all reportedly have representatives in attendance. But of the three clubs mentioned it is Villa who are in most desperate need of a boost, so could new manager Remi Garde be eyeing one of the Belgian club’s star players?
Of those likely to be on show this evening, it is 18-year-old central midfielder Youri Tielemans, 21-year-old attacking midfielder Dennis Praet and 22-year-old winger-cum-right-back Andy Najar, who are likely to be attracting the most attention.
And while Tieleman’s has a contract until the summer of 2020 and is being watched by the great and good of the game, Najar and Praet could be more realistic options.
Only time will tell if Villa make a move for any of the players on show this week, but Garde certainly needs to do something as he bids to lead his side away from the bottom three as soon as possible.
