Celtic are ready to swoop for German striker Lennart Thy in January, the Daily Record reports.
The 23-year-old forward has been eyed by Celtic scouts this season, and they are ready to submit a bid for him in the January transfer window with Thy’s contract expiring at the end of this campaign.
The striker has made it clear that he is not ready to tie his future down to St. Pauli, and with the knowledge of Celtic’s interest, as well as suitors from England and Germany, he is considering his future.
Celtic are aware that he is on the market, and Ronny Deila is set to sanction the approach for him at the start of the New Year.
Who is Lennart Thy?
Thy, 23, is a German forward who has made his named since linking up with St. Pauli in the summer of 2012.
He started his career with Werder Bremen, but has established himself as a talented 2. Bundesliga forward with St. Pauli. This season, he has netted seven goals in 17 league fixtures, including four in one game against Fortuna Dusseldorf - a game at which Celtic had scouts.
A former German youth international, Celtic clearly believe that the powerful striker is perfect for Deila’s 4-2-3-1 system, and it will be no surprise to see the forward link up with the Bhoys in January.
