Celtic’s squad headed out to Turkey today for their Europa League tie.
Celtic travelled out to Turkey today ahead of Thursday’s Europa League tie with Fenerbahce, with young prospect Aidan Nesbitt named in Ronny Deila’s travelling squad.
Nesbitt made his debut for the Bhoys earlier this season, playing one minute of the 2-0 League Cup victory over Raith Robers, and it appears as if the midfielder could be given the chance to impress Deila in what is a dead rubber tie against Fenerbahce.
The Bhoys are already out of the Europa League, and Deila could give Nesbitt the chance to either start, or come on as a substitute, to feature as part of his midfield in what will be an intense atmosphere in Turkey.
Highly rated at Parked, Nesbitt has spent this term in Celtic’s Under-19 squad, playing in four of their UEFA Youth League fixtures. Primarily an attacking midfielder, the scored a hat-trick in a 5-0 win over Helsinki, and then followed that up with a strike in the return leg against the same team, whilst playing as a right-winger.
If Nesbitt can get some minutes against Fenerbahce, and impress the watching Deila, he could find himself rapidly promoted into the Celtic senior squad for the rest of the campaign.
