Liverpool fans are hoping Jurgen Klopp will now splash the cash in January.
Can you believe it? Well yes actually, Daniel Sturridge is injured once again.
The BBC report the Liverpool striker has been ruled out of action for a few weeks until January after suffering yet another hamstring injury.
Sturridge reportedly picked up the injury during his substitute appearance at the weekend in the 2-0 defeat at Newcastle, making the game look even more disastrous.
The England international had only just recovered from injury issues which kept him out of much of the early part of the season, and severely disrupted his 2014/15 campaign.
He led the line impressively last week in a 6-1 demolition of Southampton in the Capital One Cup quarter-final.
It is that flash of his ability which makes the repeated injury setbacks even more disappointing for fans to continually endure.
Liverpool supporters reacted with typical dismay to the news that the former Chelsea and Manchester City striker is back on the treatment table.
There was one positive suggested however, and that is the possibility and surely now inevitability that new manager Jurgen Klopp will sign a new striker in January.
Christian Benteke is yet to win over fans, while Divock Origi is still a raw talent, and Danny Ings has been ruled out for the season with a knee injury.
What makes Sturridge saga worse, he's injured, then has a splendid game, then injured again. #LFC— Premier League Talk (@LFCLegacy) December 9, 2015
I love Sturridge, he's class; when fit. I don't think getting rid is the answer though, maybe 'pay as you play' might be the solution? #LFC— Suz Kloppite (@Suzie_LFC) December 9, 2015
Need a striker in January. Simply can't rely on Sturridge. And we need that kind of fella up front. #LFC— Jussi Nyström (@JussiNystrom) December 9, 2015
So disappointing to hear 'Daniel Sturridge' and 'injured' in the same sentence yet again, confirms really #LFC have to plan without him.— Jim Boardman (@JimBoardman) December 8, 2015
Look on the bright side, sturridge injury might convince lfc to buy striker in Jan, klopp did say he would if injuries meant he had too— Ben Mullane (@The_jamin) December 8, 2015
Sell Sturridge && watch him score 20+ goals in a season for another club..— ~Being Human~ (@Sujanvan23) December 9, 2015
