The West Ham United midfielder is the latest to be ruled out through injury.
West Ham United have given an injury update on their official website in regards to loan signing Manuel Lanzini, and it is yet another blow for a club that has been blighted by such problems in recent weeks.
The Argentine midfielder has been brilliant since arriving at Upton Park, scoring five goals and providing two assists in 16 appearances to date and easing the absence through injury of fellow summer arrival Dimitri Payet.
But Lanzini was not in the squad for the recent 0-0 draw with Manchester United after picking up an injury in training and now the Hammers have suggested he could be out of action until 2016.
The statement explains that the 22-year-old had a scan on Monday and that he will now begin a period of rehabilitation that looks set to rule him out for up to six weeks.
That is another huge blow for manager Slaven Bilic who had seen his side excel in the early stages of the campaign, upsetting the odds against the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool.
But their injury woes show no signs of easing and it will be interesting to see what the festive period has in store for West Ham with their squad stretched to its limit.
