Tiago Ilori has admitted to Aston Villa’s official website that his time at the club so far has been 'very frustrating'.
Ilori signed for Villa on loan from Liverpool during the summer transfer window, but he hasn’t managed to make any impact at the club so far.
The young defender was out of favour while Tim Sherwood was in charge, and Remi Garde is yet to give him an opportunity since taking over.
And the 22-year-old said: "I haven't played football for a good couple of months.
"It's been very frustrating. I want to be in there and helping the team, especially at this time. That's what's important.”
Ilori’s progress at Villa has not been helped by his struggles to stay off the treatment table.
The youngster has failed to stay fit, with a groin problem proving to be very problematic.
Ilori was on the substitutes’ bench during Villa’s latest match against Southampton at the weekend, and that should offer him some hope.
The Portuguese defender also played for the Claret and Blues’ development side during their win over Derby County in midweek.
Ilori’s Villa teammates have not coped very well without him, and the side currently prop up the Premier League table.
