Leeds United defeated Hull City 2-1 at Elland Road in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Leeds United head coach Steve Evans has revealed to The Yorkshire Evening Post how Sol Bamba reacted to the side’s win against Hull City at the weekend.

The Whites returned to winning ways in the Championship on Saturday afternoon with a 2-1 success over Hull at Elland Road.

Bamba, who is the Leeds captain, missed the game due to injury, but he congratulated his teammates in the dressing room.

“When you’re captain of a club you have to demonstrate it on and off the pitch and to see Sol hugging everyone walking into that dressing (after the win over Hull) shows that we need our leader back,” Evans told The Yorkshire Evening Post.

Bamba is one of the best players in the current Leeds squad, and the Whites do need him back.

In 15 Championship appearances so far this season, the Ivory Coast international central defender has created three chances, has a pass accuracy of 78% and a shot accuracy of 17%, and has won 56 headers, 12 dribbles and 31 tackles.

Leeds are 17th in the league table at the moment with 22 points from 19 matches, just six points above the relegation zone.

The West Yorkshire outfit will take on Charlton Athletic away from home at The Valley in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
