The Star reported in November that Chelsea were planning a move for the Argentine, but competition is increasing for his signature.
Marca report Calleri is interesting Tottenham Hotspur, and go on to suggest that with former La Albiceleste international Mauricio Pochettino at the helm, they could hold an advantage over their rivals.
Calleri is 22-years-old and is also on the radar of Arsenal and Newcastle United.
He holds a European passport so he does not require a work permit, Marca report.
In all competitions in 2015 Calleri has 21 goals in 53 games, and 11 assists, with three goals in four games in the Copa Libertadores.
In league competition he has 10 goals and seven assists in 26 appearances.
From Tottenham's perspective, Calleri is a more exciting prospect that Saido Berahino of West Brom, and with the pair the same age, the Argentine would not be as expensive.
He can also play wide on the right wing as well as up front, which would allow him to line up in the same XI as Harry Kane, and also fill a void in the squad if Andros Townsend is sold in January.
Here he is in action for Boca Juniors...
