Tiote has missed the last two matches with injury, but he is expected to return at White Hart Lane.
The Ivorian’s comeback will be good news for Steve McClaren, as it increases his midfield options.
Tiote’s inclusion for Newcastle on Sunday is far from guaranteed, though, as the Tyneside outfit won their last match.
Newcastle beat Liverpool 2-0 in their latest outing, and in that match Jack Colback and Vurnon Anita both played well.
It means that Tiote could have to settle for a place on the bench, after making his way off the treatment table.
Tiote will be hoping that his return lasts for a prolonged period of time, as he has missed much of this season so far.
The 29-year-old has only been able to play nine matches for Newcastle so far this campaign, due to his struggles for fitness.
