Hugo Lloris speaks out about West Brom wonder-save

The Tottenham stopper made a fantastic save from Jonas Olsson but is staying modest.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has remained modest when asked about his decisive save against West Brom, telling the club’s official website that he is just happy to help the team.

The France international has been in sensational form for the North London outfit this season, with his individual performances playing a decisive part in Mauricio Pochettino’s men being unbeaten in the Premier League since the opening day of the campaign.

Lloris denied the Baggies with a superb stop from a Jonas Olsson effort in a 1-1 draw at The Hawthorns on Saturday, effectively ensuring the Lilywhites left with a point.

Despite his heroics, the former Lyon man has remained humble in the face of applause, instead focussing on the team’s efforts rather than his own.

“It was just a moment’s decision,” Lloris told the club’s official website.

“I took the decision to stay on my line and I was able to push the ball over the bar.

“It’s always good when you can contribute to the team getting points.”

Lloris is widely recognised as one of the best stoppers in the English top flight, with Tottenham hoping to reward the Frenchman’s loyalty with qualification for the Champions League this term.

Pochettino’s young side has been impressive this term and can extend their unbeaten run to a club-record 15 games by avoiding defeat against Newcastle this weekend.
