Claims Arsenal are keen on signing Celta Vigo attacker Nolito have been shot down by Spanish football pundit Guillem Balague.
Spanish newspaper Sport reported over the weekend that Arsenal were intensifying their interest in the forward with a view to a January move. It had been claimed by Sport that Arsenal wanted to triple Nolito's salary
Balague insists these claims are false, and Arsenal are not in the running to sign the Spain international.
Arsenal not interested at all in Nolito. Not by chance the stories come out in the Catalan press (he wants to go to FCB).— Guillem Balague (@GuillemBalague) December 8, 2015
The 29-year-old was once part of Barcelona's youth team, and so there is an extra reason for him to favour a return to his former side rather than moving to England in any case, ahead of Euro 2016.
Nolito impressed Barcelona particularly this season by scoring a hat-trick against them as Celta inflicted a surprise loss.
Barcelona's transfer ban expires in January, permitting them to sign the winger, and play him straight away, alongside Aleix Vidal who signed from Sevilla in the summer.
