Everton Goodison 2

Everton and Crystal Palace played out a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park last night.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez has lauded Crystal Palace’s quality in the Irish News.

Palace and Everton drew 1-1 at Goodison Park yesterday evening, and Martinez was very impressed by the London side’s quality.

The Spanish manager claims that Alan Pardew has assembled the perfect group for playing away from home, as they have so much pace and power.

"Remember Crystal Palace are not just good on the eye, but very effective," Martinez said. "They have pace and power and real good strength - the perfect combination to play away from home.

Everton and Palace’s match yesterday was a very enteraining one, and both sides showed that they had a lot of talent in their squad.

Although the Toffees had the better chances in the contest, Palace proved why they have such a good record on their travels.

The Eagles grabbed the lead through a Scott Dann header, and they almost held on to claim the three points, but Romelu Lukaku scored late on to deny them.

Everton have moved up to ninth place in the Premier League table, after the draw, while Palace are flying high in sixth place.
