Daniel Levy comments on Tottenham Hotspur's transfer business

Tottenham Hotspur could be active in the January transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has told the club’s official website that there is a misconception about him over his transfer dealings.

Levy has been accused of waiting until the last minute to get deals done, in the hope that he will be able to secure them at a bargain price.

However, he insists that these claims are false, and says that Spurs will be looking to complete their business early on in the January transfer window, should they opt to try and bring in some new additions.

"There’s a perception out there which is actually factually wrong," he said.

"That perception is that we, on purpose, leave our transfer dealings down to the last part of the window.

"Ideally, if the club decide to do a deal in January, we would like to do in on the 1st January,"

Tottenham have been guilty of leaving their business until the last minute in previous transfer windows, but it seems that this has been out necessity, rather than design.

Spurs will hope that they can capture all of their desired additions in January quickly, as they look to strengthen their squad.

Tottenham are in the thick of the battle for the Champions League qualification spots, and the next transfer window could be crucial to their chances.

If Mauricio Pochettino can add further quality to his Spurs squad, it could be the decisive factor which pushes them over the line, and allows them to break into the top-four.
