Hull City midfielder David Meyler does not appear to be too pleased with Newcastle United’s win against Liverpool at the weekend.

Hull City midfielder David Meyler has taken to social networking site Twitter to remind Newcastle United that they have an abysmal record against Sunderland.

Newcastle returned to winning ways in the Premier League at the weekend when they got the better of Liverpool 2-0 at St. James’ Park.

Meyler, a former Sunderland player, was following the match on Sunday evening, and he tried to put a dampener on the Magpies’ win by reminding a fan about their record against the Black Cats.

Newcastle have lost their last six matches against north-east rivals Sunderland.

Both the Magpies and the Black Cats currently find themselves in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

While Sunderland are second from bottom in the Premier League at the moment, Newcastle are just a place and a point above them.

Sam Allardyce’s side will take on Watford at the Stadium of Light in the league this Saturday afternoon, while the Magpies will face Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
