The Belgian scored yet another goal in the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Monday.
The Belgian scored a late equaliser for his side, but was unfortunate not to have a hat-trick in the game as he hit the post and the bar before his goal.
That strike was his 50th in 100 appearances for the Blues, while it also continued his fine form this season, with him currently second in the goalscoring charts behind Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy.
And the punditry duo were full of praise for the striker and the way he has developed this season.
“It’s all about confidence, he’s not really thinking too much, that’s the sign of a confident player,” Carragher told Monday Night Football.
“His touches, his general play, sometimes you have strikers who score and don’t contribute, but he’s actually a perfect centre forward now.”
“50 goals in 100 games is a great achievement,” added Bellamy.
“He’s a player who just keeps growing, there’s a lot of his game that he’s taken onto another level. Everton have got a really good player.”
With Lukaku firmly among the goals, Everton will be hoping that he can guide them to a challenge for a place in Europe this season.
The last two weeks have been disappointing to say the least for the Blues, with them dominating against Bournemouth and Crystal Palace but failing to secure all three points from either.
With 22 points to their name, though, they are just four points behind Tottenham in fifth, and so still in the hunt for a place in Europe.
Even the top four is not unreachable, with just seven points separating them from Manchester City and Manchester United in third and fourth.
