Newcastle managed to beat Jurgen Klopp’s side 2-0 yesterday, and Elliot was rarely tested during the tie.
Liverpool found it tough to break down the Magpies down, and Elliot has paid tribute to his side’s defenders.
"If you had told me I would have so little to do against Liverpool, I wouldn't have believed you," Elliot said.
"It's a testament to just how good all of the lads were in front of me. I can't really pick anyone out, they were all magnificent and stuck to our game plan.”
Liverpool did actually have a goal incorrectly ruled out during the contest, but that was one of the few times that they threatened.
The Reds failed to get going in the contest, and Newcastle showed their quality – by picking up a highly impressive victory.
The clean-sheet will have helped to develop Elliot’s reputation too.
There were doubts over the goalkeeper’s quality when he stepped in to replace the injured Tim Krul, but he has been excellent so far.
Newcastle’s win over Liverpool has lifted them up to 18th place in the Premier League table, but they will have to get a result in their next fixture against Tottenham Hotspur if they are to move out of the relegation zone.
