Mark Noble explains what Slaven Bilic brought to West Ham on day one

Slaven Bilic

Slaven Bilic has been in charge of West Ham since the summer.

Speaking to the official West Ham website, Mark Noble has praised the work that Slaven Bilic has done at the Boleyn Ground, claiming that he brought a fantastic team spirit as soon as he arrived in East London.

Speaking about Bilic’s impact at the Boleyn Ground, Noble said: “We have had good team spirit from day one [of his reign]. We are not going to get a result every game but it is how you bounce back.”

West Ham started the season in exceptional form, proving their team spirit and unity by picking up hard fought results against Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea.

Injuries have disrupted performances in recent weeks, and form has dropped off, but it is clear that the spirit in the Hammers’ dressing room is one of the best in the entire Premier League.

Bilic arrived in East London with a reputation as a solid tactician with plenty of experience, but it was his motivational skills that were most highly regarded heading into his management job with the Hammers.

So far he has proven himself, building a team ethic out of a group of players - many of whom were only signed over the summer.

They have proven to be a team who, when combined, are better than the sum of their parts, and this has led many to suggest the Hammers could realistically qualify for European football at the end of this season.

Recent results suggest that getting into Europe may be a bridge too far this term, but with Bilic in charge, it looks as if the future is extremely bright for all of those involved at West Ham.
