Harry Redknapp writes off Tottenham Hotspur's title chances

Harry Redknapp believes Tottenham do not have a chance of winning the league this season.

The Premier League title race is more open than ever - but Harry Redknapp has told The Telegraph he does not believe his former club Tottenham Hotspur are in contention.

Spurs could only draw at the weekend against West Brom, and sit six points off the top of the league, currently in fifth position.

At the top are surprise pace setters Leicester City on 32 points, who SkyBet list as long as 28/1 to go on and win the title - which is still a massive reduction on their price at the beginning of the season.

Redknapp said: "Chelsea are out of the title race now, Tottenham can make the top four but I do not see them winning it."

To consider Chelsea in the title race, would take you back to October, as it has been several weeks since their chances of a fightback  seemed even remotely possible.

Tottenham are 11 points and nine league places above Chelsea, but to discount them from the running too would be over eager.

Spurs have shown great consistency early this season and are unbeaten in the league since the opening day of the campaign, a record which gives a platform for a surprise title challenge.

It is too early to rule anybody in the top six out at this stage considering there is no stand out team, with favourites Manchester City beaten by Stoke at the weekend, and also suffering 4-1 embarrassments against Liverpool... and Tottenham.
