Harry Kane claims Tottenham Hotspur can climb even higher

Tottenham Hotspur face Newcastle United, Southampton, Norwich City and Watford in the coming weeks.

Harry Kane has told the London Evening Standard that Tottenham Hotspur can move up even higher in the Premier League table over the next few weeks.

Spurs are currently sitting in fifth place in the top-flight standings, just outside the Champions League qualification spaces.

Tottenham are unbeaten in their last 14 matches, but Kane still feels that there is more to come from his side.

The Lilywhites face Newcastle United, Southampton, Norwich City and Watford over the coming weeks, meaning that they have a big opportunity to big up points.

And Kane said: “We have winnable games coming up, so it’s an important month for us. We can definitely push up the League and it is a funny season in the Premier League — everyone seems to be beating everyone else.

If Tottenham can take maximum points throughout December it would confirm their credentials to qualify for the Champions League, and it would almost certainly put them in the title fight.

Mauricio Pochettino’s team are only six points behind Leicester City, who sit at the top of the Premier League table, as things stand.

Spurs have been formidable defensively this season, but if they are to really mount a push for a top-four push they will need to start winning more frequently.

The scores in Tottenham’s matches so far this season have finished level on eight occasions – more than any other team in the top-flight – and they will need to start turning one point into three more regularly, if they are to climb up the table.
