Spurs could only pick up a 1-1 draw at the Hawthorns on Saturday, and their performance in the contest was well short of their best.
However, Tottenham are a resilient outfit this time around – and Kane feels that the fact they managed to pick up a point in the contest shows the improvements that his side have made.
“It was a difficult game in difficult conditions,” the striker said.
“The wind was swirling about, which makes it hard, especially away from home. We try and play our football but we found it tough doing it this time.
“It’s a tough game and we’ve got a point out of it. West Brom isn’t an easy place to come, as other top teams have found out.
“It’s probably a game we might have lost in recent years. It was a physical game but I thought we matched them in that department."
Hugo Lloris backed up Kane’s point, by making exactly the same statement to TalkSPORT after the match.
"It was a tough game in really bad conditions," he said. "Sometimes you need to keep fighting during the game and try to do your best to not lose. The spirit is still great. Probably that kind of game in the past we could have lost it.
"Everyone is ready to do their best for the team."
Tottenham scored their goal through Dele Alli, but they were pegged back when James McClean netted with a header.
In the end, they were thankful to Lloris, as the French goalkeeper pulled off a wonderful save to ensure that they collected a point from the contest.
Tottenham’s draw with West Brom has extended their unbeaten run to 14 matches, and left them lurking just outside the Champions League qualification spots.
Tottenham’s next match comes against struggling Newcastle United at White Hart Lane.
