Christian Fuchs on Leicester City's wake-up call against Swansea City

Leicester City beat Swansea City 3-0 at the weekend.

Christian Fuchs has told Leicester City’s official site that his side had a wake-up call during their match against Swansea City at the weekend.

Leicester ran out 3-0 winners against Swansea, but at one stage in the match their intensity dropped.

When the Foxes had a two-goal advantage in the fixture, they let up, and Swansea almost them pay – when they hit the crossbar from a set-piece.

That moment was crucial in the match, according to Fuchs, as it ensured that Leicester went for the jugular, and ensured that they scored a third goal to put the match to bed.

“They had a header against the bar which was kind of a wake-up call for us because we knew we could not sit back and only rest on those two goals," Fuchs said.

“We had to do more and we again had a few chances in the second half and we made the third goal. Riyad scored his hat-trick so we’re happy for him."

All three of Leicester’s goals at the Liberty Stadium were scored by Riyad Mahrez, as the winger continued his fine start to the season.

Mahrez’s form has rather been overshadowed by Jamie Vardy’s goalscoring exploits, but the Algerian has been sensational this term.

Mahrez has chipped in with goals and assists galore over the opening 15 matches, and his performances have been a major reason behind Claudio Ranieri’s side’s hugely impressive run of results.

Leicester are now sitting three points clear at the top of the Premier League, and their current form is showing no signs of slowing down.
