Shrewsbury Town defender Anthony Gerrard has been critical of Jordon Ibe’s performance for Liverpool against Newcastle United on Sunday evening on social networking site Twitter.
The former Cardiff City centre-back, who is a cousin of Liverpool legend Steve Gerrard, was not impressed with the 19-year-old winger’s display in the Reds’ 2-0 defeat to Newcastle at St. James’ Park in the Premier League.
Ibe's end product is not good enough. If he wasn't lighting quick would he play?? And why doesn't he just push it past and chase it?— Anthony Gerrard (@antgerrard86) December 6, 2015
Ibe started the Premier League game on Sunday evening and played for 75 minutes.
The 19-year-old former Wycombe Wanderers winger took one shot, had a pass accuracy of 75%, created one chance, put in five crosses, attempted four dribbles, won 50% of his tackles, and made one clearance and one two blocks.
Liverpool are seventh in the Premier League table at the moment with 23 points from 15 matches, six points behind Manchester United, who are currently fourth and occupy the final Champions League spot.
