The former Manchester United right-back and popular Sky Sports pundit has taken over the managerial reigns at Valencia until the end of the season, replacing former boss Nuno.
Neville watched his side draw 1-1 at home to Barcelona at the Mestalla Stadium last night, and he’s already looking at areas to improve in the squad in the upcoming transfer window.
As per the report in the Daily Star, the first player Neville wishes to join Valencia is Leicester ace Vardy, as part of his job is to advise chairman and close associate Peter Lim in recruitment.
“Gary Neville has urged Valencia to buy England ace Jamie Vardy. He is convinced Vardy, 28, with his lightning pace and deadly finishing would be a perfect fit in La Liga,” the report states.
The former non-league striker has broken multiple records this season, including becoming the first player to score at least once in 11 consecutive Premier League matches.
Valencia have their very own talented striker in Paco Alcacer, yet the Spanish international partnered by Vardy would be a frightening proposition for La Liga defences to handle.
Leicester certainly wouldn’t sell their main man on the cheap, yet with Peter Lim having already proven he is willing to financially back Valencia, perhaps a big-money deal could be reached.
