Stephen Harper and Steve Watson react on Twitter to Newcastle win

St James Park

Newcastle United defeated Liverpool 2-0 at St. James’ Park in the Premier League this evening.

Stephen Harper has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Newcastle United’s win against Liverpool at home this evening.

Newcastle returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a 2-0 victory over the Reds at St. James’ Park.

A Martin Skrtel own goal saw the Magpies go ahead in the 69th minute, and a late effort from Georginio Wijnaldum saw the home team pick up all three points.

Former Newcastle goalkeeper Harper was following the match, and he was impressed with the tactics of head coach Steve McClaren.

Steve Watson, another former Newcastle player, was watching the match, and he hailed the shift put in by the players.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at St. James’ Park, hosts Newcastle had just 40% of the possession, took six shots of which only one was on target, and earned just two corners.

The Magpies are third from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with 13 points from 15 matches, level on points with 17th-place Bournemouth, who are ahead on goal difference.
