According to The Sun, Rangers boss Mark Warburton wants to bring Accrington Stanley ace Matt Crooks to Ibrox in a potential double deal.
The Gers saw their game against Raith Rovers called off on Saturday, halting the club's momentum after two 4-0 victories over the last week.
Warburton's men remain favourites for the Scottish Championship title, but with Hibernian challenging them all the way, he may look to add more new faces in January, even after signing 11 players over the summer.
The Sun report that Rangers are plotting a January move to sign Accrington youngster Matt Crooks in January, with a potential double deal in the pipeline.
It's stated that the Gers are already moving for Accrington playmaker Josh Windass, but Crooks has now caught their attention too - and they are willing to pay £500,000 to land both players next month.
Crooks, 21, came up through the ranks with Manchester United and Huddersfield Town, but after a successful loan spell with Accrington last season, the youngster was released from his Huddersfield contract, and penned a permanent deal with Stanley.
Now, with impressive displays under John Coleman, the defensive midfielder is attracting interest - and with both Crooks and Windass out of contract at the end of the season, it seems Rangers are planning to swoop to land both players in cut-price deals in January.
