Oriol Romeu reacts on Twitter after scoring first Southampton goal

The Saints midfielder took to social media after netting his first goal for the South Coast club.

Ronald Koeman admitted to being disappointed and, more than anything, confused when Southampton drew with Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.

Joleon Lescott opened the scoring for struggling Villa and the Premier League's bottom side came close to leaving St Mary's with all three points.

Southampton have been struggling themselves over the last few weeks but never to the same degree as Villa, while they bombarded the Midlands outfit with shots - simply being unable to convert them.

Still, the Saints were eventually saved, despite not being able to register a win against Villa. Oriol Romeu scored his first goal for Southampton - and it was a timely strike, too.

As such, the South Coast club's hero of the hour took to Twitter to celebrate the landmark, also expressing his disappointment that Southampton couldn't claim victory. The draw leaves Koeman's men 12th in the top flight.

Southampton travel to Crystal Palace for their next Premier League clash and, considering their recent struggles, it certainly won't be an easy encounter. Aston Villa, meanwhile, face Arsenal, when it will likely be even tougher to get a result.
