Pochettino has admitted that Spurs struggled when West Brom put 10 men behind the ball in the Premier League clash at The Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon..
“We had a tough team in front of us and tough conditions to deal with,” the Tottenham head coach told the club’s official website.
“Every time we were in possession they had 10 men behind the ball and that made it difficult for us. The conditions didn’t help either.
“But you know, sometimes in the season you have games like this and you can win or lose. I think it was a mature performance from the players.
Tottenham failed to return to winning ways in the Premier League as they were held to a 1-1 draw by West Brom at The Hawthorns.
England international midfielder Dele Alli put the North London outfit in the lead in the 15th minute with a volley past Boaz Myhill, but James McClean headed home the equaliser for the Baggies on 39 minutes.
Over the course of the 90 minutes at The Hawthorns, Spurs had 65% of the possession, took nine shots of which three were on target, and earned six corners.
Tottenham are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with 26 points from 15 matches, just three points behind Manchester United, who are fourth and occupy the final Champions League spot.
