Mauricio Pochettino admits Tottenham Hotspur are lucky to have Hugo Lloris

Hugo Lloris has been in impressive form for Tottenham Hotspur so far this season.

Mauricio Pochettino has told the Belfast Telegraph that Tottenham Hotspur are lucky to have Hugo Lloris in their squad.

Tottenham were grateful to the French stopper yesterday, as they picked up a 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns.

The Baggies created a number of opportunities throughout the contest, and Lloris’ close-range stop from a Jonas Olsson shot was particularly memorable.

"I think it was a great save, I can say he is one of the best goalkeepers in the world," Pochettino said. "We are lucky he is at Tottenham with us."

Lloris has shown his superb ability at White Hart Lane on countless occasions, and he is now wearing the captain’s armband for the side.

The 28-year-old is regarded as one of the top goalkeepers in the Premier League, and he has proved to be very reliable for Spurs.

Tottenham’s defensive record this season has been highly impressive, and Lloris’ good form has been a major reason behind this.

Spurs have only conceded 12 goals in 15 matches to date, meaning that they have the second best defensive record in the entirety of the top flight.

Tottenham’s draw with West Brom has extended their unbeaten run to 14 matches, and they are now in fifth place in the Premier League table.
