Danny Murphy highlighted on Match of the Day on BBC One on Saturday night (December 5) a positive from Tottenham Hotspur’s performance against West Bromwich Albion away from home.
Tottenham failed to return to winning ways in the Premier League as they were held to a 1-1 draw by West Brom at The Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon.
England international midfielder Dele Alli put Spurs in the lead in the 15th minute with a volley past Boaz Myhill, but James McClean headed home the equaliser for the Baggies on 39 minutes.
The North London outfit’s performance was far from impressive, but former Tottenham midfielder Murphy has picked out a positive from the display.
“Tottenham were just not quite at the races today, but really good sign for them that they can dig out a result when things are not going well for them,” said Murphy on Match of the Day on BBC One on Saturday night (December 5).
Over the course of the 90 minutes at The Hawthorns, Spurs had 65% of the possession, took nine shots of which three were on target, and earned six corners.
Tottenham are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with 26 points from 15 matches, just three points behind Manchester United, who are fourth and occupy the final Champions League spot.
