Former Newcastle United striker Michael Owen has predicted on Colossusbets.com that Sunday afternoon’s Championship clash between Sheffield Wednesday and Derby County at the Hillsborough Stadium will end in a draw.
“Sheffield Wednesday have an excellent home record with five wins and only one loss in their opening nine matches, but they will need to be at their best when third-placed Derby visit at the weekend,” wrote Owen.
“Derby have only conceded 11 goals in 18 games, while Wednesday have shipped a respectable nine goals in front of their own fans. So I go 1-1 and 0-0.”
Wednesday are eighth in the Championship table at the moment with 28 points from 18 matches.
The Owls are just a point behind six-place Cardiff City and are very much in the running for a playoff spot.
Carlos Carvalhal’s side will head into the game on Sunday on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Stoke City away from home at the Britannia Stadium in the quarter-finals of the League Cup.
Meanwhile, Derby currently find themselves third in the Championship table with 36 points from 18 matches, five points behind leaders Brighton & Hove Albion with a game in hand.
The Rams have one of the best squads in the Championship and are aiming for a top-two finish.
