Turkish giants Galatasaray are plotting a move for Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse in the January transfer window, HITC Sport understands from sources close to a potential deal.
Galatasaray are looking to bring in reinforcements during January after a poor start to the season, and have money to spend during the window.
Cisse has been a long-term target for Galatasaray, and they tried to sign the Senegal international in the summer transfer window.
Cisse has not been a regular starter for Newcastle this season with two goals in 10 appearances, and he could be tempted by a move away.
It remains to be seen if Newcastle would consider selling Cisse as they short of options in attack, with Aleksandar Mitrovic, Ayoze Perez and the injured French forward Manu Riviere the only recognised strikers in the squad.
Cisse is entering the final 18 months of his contract at St James' Park and Newcastle could decide to cash-in on him if they can find a replacement in January.
