Is this banter? We can't tell, but he sure does love his banter, doesn't he?
When Gary Neville moved to Sky Sports back in 2011, we're not sure many thought he would end up becoming the channel's main pundit, but he did.
From commentary gold like celebrating Fernando Torres' goal against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final, to his brilliant on-screen banter with Jamie Carragher.
Neville was also able to bring in some expert knowledge of what it takes to play at the very top in the Premier League and in Europe, after all he is an eight-time Premier League and two-time Champions League winner.
And after three years acting as Roy Hodgson's assistant in the England setup, the next natural transition was to enter the world of management, which is what he did after being named the new Valencia manager.
While everyone was congratulating him, former Sky Sports presenter and bantermerchant, Richard Keys, took to Twitter to tweet something truly bizarre:
Good luck Gary. And welcome to the big time. pic.twitter.com/2sKlqlBRPu— Richard Keys (@richardajkeys) December 3, 2015
We're guessing that 'the big time' doesn't exactly take account of the Premier League, Champions League and playing for England in five major tournaments.
And, as you can imagine, fans took a right dig at Keys on Twitter:
@richardajkeys Welcome? He was Captain of Man Utd. He knows the big time.— Adam (@AdLovesCurry) December 3, 2015
@richardajkeys why do you say welcome like you are a part of the big time?— Nasek (@n4sek) December 3, 2015
@richardajkeys is the "big time" being moving on from sky to a better job? Or being sacked from sky for being a sexist pig?— Toni Kelly (@hrhtoni) December 3, 2015
@richardajkeys 'welcome' ? When did you captain Mamchester United?— Declan Clarke (@Declanclarke) December 3, 2015
Wonder if he'll jump to a banter defence again...
