Hasselbaink has been confirmed as QPR’s new manager, the official club website reports.
The 43-year-old Dutchman links up with the R’s as the replacement for Chris Ramsey, who was sacked last month.
Neil Warnock also leaves his job as interim manager, signing off with the 1-0 victory at Reading last night.
The former Chelsea and Leeds striker arrives at Loftus Road after an extremely successful spell in charge of Burton Albion.
In just his second managerial job - after a mediocre spell with Belgian club Royal Antwerp - Hasselbaink led Burton to the League Two title after arriving in November last year.
He leaves the side top of the table in League One, with 33 wins in just 54 games, to hold an exceptional win percentage of 61.11%
Hasselbaink arrives at QPR wth the West London club sitting in 11th place in the Championship table, on 26 points from 19 games. They are just two points off the final play-off spot, and if the boss keeps up the same form he was showing at Burton, the Rs will face no trouble in getting back to the Premier League.
Following the news, fans reacted on Twitter to Hasselbaink taking charge of QPR, and we collect some of the best responses below.
@Angelagallen so Hasselbaink announced as QPR boss, optimistic? He'd won 33/54 whilst at Burton, seems like a decent appointment :)— Peter Finney (@mightyfin15) December 4, 2015
Hasselbaink is a great appointment for #QPR. Good organizer, shown willingness to learn and adapt, calm, commands respect. Superb manager.— Gabriel Sutton (@_FootbalLab) December 4, 2015
Hasselbaink has a difficult job on his hands. Hope he can build a good young team over a few seasons which can challenge for promotion #QPR— Cameron (@Deadend_Friend) December 4, 2015
Hasselbaink in at QPR. Good to see, if a bit of a gamble. A "rolling contract" doesn't scream conviction by the club though.— Adam Priestley (@aapriestley) December 4, 2015
Think Hasselbaink is a good appointment tbh he's on the rise as a manager will be good for reestablishing QPR.— Cal (@SakhoCan) December 4, 2015
Hasselbaink at QPR is a great move for the club— Santokie (@San_Toki_) December 4, 2015
If JFH can get the best out of Fer & Chery then we'll soon see exciting football return to #QPR. Excited to get behind the team next weekend— Will Street (@WillStweet) December 4, 2015
People saying its a bad decision for Jimmy Floyd going #qpr instead of staying at Burton. Qpr are a big club, Burton are not. Enough said— Deano (@deantheshaker) December 4, 2015
