The player famous for injuring superstar Neymar at the Brazil World Cup could be on his way to England with the likes of Watford and Leicester interested.

According to website Football Italia, Colombian defender Juan Zuniga is set to leave Napoli in the winter window.

The controversial full back is best remembered for the role he played in ruling Brazil superstar Neymar out of his home World Cup while playing for Colombia in their quarter-final tussle.

With the match nearing its end, Zuniga landed his right knee in Neymar's lower back while challenging for the ball.

The Barcelona striker was stretchered off and further examinations showed he had fractured a vertebra, ruling him out of the rest of the tournament.

'He will leave'

Zuniga has played 157 times in six years at Napoli but the club's vice-President Edoardo De Laurentiis has confirmed he will leave in January.

“He’ll leave in January,” De Laurentiis told Football Italia.

“He has a calf problem and doesn’t have 90 minutes in his legs."

The Colombian has played just 13 Serie A matches across the last three seasons after a series of injuries and has not played at all this season.

He recently caused controversy when he claimed coach Maurizio Sarri is not allowed to pick him, as reported by Football Italia.

And now it seems he is set for pastures new we weigh up his two most likely Premier League destinations.

Watford's Italian ownership will be well aware of what's available back in their home market and will be on the lookout for potential bargains.

Speaking ahead of this weekend's match against Norwich City, Hornets boss Quique Sanchez Flores confirmed he is looking to add three or four players to his squad to maintain the club's excellent season.

Watford won promotion from the Championship last season and signed 13 players over the summer.

They have won plenty of friends this season with their performances and sit 11th in the table after 14 matches.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference Flores said: "We have one list with three or four players.

"We are very clear what are the areas we need and it's very important to be right because if not it's better to keep like we are in this moment."

Leicester City

Zuniga is a player Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri knows well from his time back in Italy.

Leicester are currently joint top of the Premier League table after 14 games and have been one of the surprise packages of the season across Europe.

A player of Zuniga's quality is sure to be on Ranieri's radar and the 29-year-old Colombian could well link up again with former Napoli teammate Gokhan Inler.
