Arsenal will take on the Black Cats at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, and Owen has suggested that the game will end in a home victory.
“The Gunners’ were disappointing at the Hawthorns last weekend but more worrying was the latest injuries to Santi Cazorla and Alexis Sanchez,” the former Newcastle United striker wrote on Betvictor.com.
“That said Mesut Ozil is in blinding form at present and there is the chance that Theo Walcott might be available for the visit of a Black Cats side who have improved under Sam Allardyce.
“The Gunners have not won in three in the PL and cannot afford to make it four if they are to be considered realistic title challengers.”
A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Arsenal to win to nil at Evens.”
Arsenal are fourth in the Premier League table at the moment with 27 points from 14 matches.
The Gunners are just two points behind leaders Manchester City and are very much in the running for the league title.
Arsene Wenger’s side, though, have lost momentum in recent weeks, and they do need to return to winning ways this weekend.
The North London outfit did not win a single Premier League match last month, and they have to pick up all three points against Sunderland.
Although Sunderland are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season, they have started to show signs of resurgence.
Sam Allardyce’s side have won their last two Premier League games and are currently outside the bottom three.
