The 16-year-old is a major target for Manchester United.

Manchester United are always on the look out for bringing in top young talent and it seems a West Ham player is now on their radar.

The Times reported late last night that Manchester United are preparing an £8 million bid for West Ham United talent Reece Oxford.

The report claims that despite West Ham being set to tie him down to his first professional deal later this month Manchester United are still confident of getting their hands on the impressive 16-year-old.

A centre-back primarily he has caught the eye for West Ham this season when playing in midfield. He was a surprise starter for the club's opening game of the season in the heart of midfield and he shackled Mesut Ozil in an impressive debut, which West Ham won.

Manchester United have snapped up players like this in the past on numerous occasions. Wayne Rooney from Everton, Phil Jones from Blackburn Rovers and Chris Smalling from Fulham so West Ham fans would be right to be concerned that Oxford might follow that trend.

United fans meanwhile would love to see one of England's top talents come into the club in 2016.
