Former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Kasey Keller suggested on the ESPN FC show on BT Sport/ESPN on Wednesday evening (December 2) that Everton striker Romelu Lukaku does not always put in the effort.
“The problem with Lukaku is that you just don’t get consistently the work rate that you really can see from a player with the talent that he has,” said Keller.
Lukaku has been playing in England since 2011 when he joined London outfit Chelsea from Belgian giants Anderlecht.
The Belgium international striker switched to Everton on a permanent contract in the summer of 2014 after playing the 2013-14 season on loan from Chelsea.
The youngster scored 10 goals and created 37 chances in 36 league matches for the Merseyside outfit last season.
So far this season, Lukaku has scored 10 goals and created 15 chances in 14 Premier League games for Everton.
Everton are ninth in the Premier League table at the moment with 21 points from 14 matches, just six points behind Arsenal, who are fourth and occupy the final Champions League spot.
