The West Ham co-owner reacted humorously to the news on social media.
A recent poll ranked the duo second out of 20 in the top flight - certainly a glowing reflection of the pair.
But Gold posted on social media that he was disappointed with the accolade.
The co-owner/chairman was on Twitter ahead of West Ham's trip to Manchester United in the Premier League this weekend.
Opinion of Gold and Sullivan is positive right now but there have definitely been ups and down since the duo took over at Upton Park.
This season alone there have been a few swings in popular opinion. Indeed, there was universal praise of the Hammers owners after a positive summer of recruitment.
But that praise died down heading into Deadline Day when West Ham's squad was still thin on the ground in several key areas. Sullivan also took part in an interview that did not best please Charlie Austin.
However, a barnstorming Deadline Day, followed by a superb start to West Ham's Premier League season, has put smiles back on faces among the Hammers faithful.
