Crystal Palace join the scramble to snap up in-demand non-league winger Randell Williams

Selhurst Park

HITC Sport understands the youngster has been training with the Eagles as they seek to fend off interest from elsewhere.

Crystal Palace have stepped into the race to land non-league starlet Randell Williams, HITC Sport understands from sources close to a potential deal.

The 18-year-old winger spent time with Championship outfit Reading last month, and they opened talks to land the former Tottenham Hotspur trainee – as revealed by HITC Sport.

However, before a deal could be completed, Palace have made their move for Williams.

Williams has spent the last week with The Eagles and he is set to stay with them next week also, and a deal looks to be on the cards.

HITC Sport understands up to a dozen clubs have contacted the player, who has been playing non-league football for Tower Hamlets, in the last two weeks.

Palace will hope that they can prevail in their pursuit, with Alan Pardew working hard to build all areas of the club at Selhurst Park, be that additions ready to step straight into the first team or those with one eye on the future.
