Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang may be in the midst of his best ever season with Borussia Dortmund, but the rumoured Manchester United target’s breakthrough campaign was most definitely the 2014-15 season.
It was a campaign in which the Gabon international finished as BVB’s top scorer with 16 goals in 33 Bundesliga games and 25 in all competitions, picking up the club’s Player of the Year award in the process.
Also included in the Bundesliga Team of the Year for his efforts in the yellow and black, Aubameyang’s current run of goals is merely a continuation of the fine form he enjoyed under Jurgen Klopp last term.
And after notching up 17 league goals in just 14 games this season – including a record breaking run that saw him score in each of Dortmund’s opening eight Bundesliga fixtures – it’s no surprise to see Manchester United linked with a move for the forward.
But, if these memorable goals from last season are anything to go by, it could prove to be money well spent.
