Emanuele Giaccherini is happy at Bologna where he is currently on loan from Sunderland
Sunderland owned Emanuele Giaccherini has said he is happy on loan at Bologna.
The Italian signed on a season long deal with the Serie A side after an injury hit 2014/15 campaign at Sunderland.
Tuttomercatoweb reported that he told SkyItalia: "I think that the Bologna is an important player, with a strong team and a great president. I came to find myself again.
"The past has been difficult, I had many injuries: I needed an important challenge. Then there's the national team."
Giaccherini is hoping to earn a place at Euro 2016 with Italy, and was included in the Azzurri's recent international squad.
The midfielder added that had set himself a target of scoring eight goals and providing eight assists by the end of the season.
He has played eight games so far and has made a promising start, scoring twice and providing one assist.
The best case scenario for Sunderland is that he continues to improve and even star at Euro 2016, for next summer he will have one year left on his deal.
After a year away from the club it is likely he will want to remain in his homeland, and Sunderland should simply be hoping to get the maximum possible fee for the 30-year-old.
